Name the decision you want to change
“Make it premium” is a visual preference, not a business objective. A useful brief identifies who should respond to the work and what they should understand or do afterward. This keeps the team focused when attractive ideas compete for attention.
Share what is already known
Include product facts, approved claims, existing brand materials, legal limits, and examples of previous work. Say what is uncertain. A brief is more useful when it exposes open questions than when it hides them behind confident language.
Define the outputs
List the formats and channels early. A concept that must work on a landing page, a short video, and a small mobile placement needs different framing from an image made for one static post.
Leave space for ideas
Constraints should describe the problem and boundaries. They should not prescribe every visual choice. The brief gives the team a shared place to start; concept development is where the creative answers emerge.
